water

I just got a reverse osmosis filter for the house water intake so I don't have to descale my espresso and coffee machines and don't have to constantly scrub down the walls of the batchrooms and such (We have extremely hard water here, like 400+ TDS, have to wipe everything down or there's scale spots all over the place) and it's the type you have to charge/recharge with salt, maybe some of you know some tips on useage?

I know many cities in the US have hard/mineral rich water so anyone got any tips, like anything it's bad for?

All I know is that it's guaranteed to bring down the TDS of the water to around 10-20 but the store selling the system knows fuck all.
