serverHi, it's me again Are servers down for maintenance or similar, they seem to be unavailable. And if you would be so kind and update UTComp3 on TDM server again, it has clientside demorec enabled!! Thanks. I don't play vctf, I just threw up a vctf server some time ago to burn some of the excess bandwidth I'm paying for and...
Wtf, it's 3rd most popular vctf server out of thousands? hehe, maybe I should throw that server ads mutator on it and have it say: PLAY REAL CTF FFS! Hi, Link to UTComp3: There are also new maps that are played in cups: Not sure if some of those are already there. best regards *update WickeD at unrealNA found a way to get server history working once it eventually stops working.
ok, since favorites is fucked here's how you can at least get something... Create a text file in the folder where ut3.exe is, name it after your favorite server, say acu.txt in this text file enter: open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Where X's are ip address. Now when you wanna join server open console (F10) and type: exec acu.txt Crude, but easier than remembering the ip addresses of your favorite servers. It's been packed at #5 most played server since 5 minutes after I put it online. Someone play some real ctf damnit, at least until I get my 8800gts Almost ALL servers are reported as 2 times the ping as you get when you actually jump on that server and the pings are totally random. For example the new acu servers, #1 shows as 45ms for me, then #2 which is eactly the same running on the same machine list as 80ms, then if you refresh the servers they are both around 25ms. If I then jump on them and hit "stat net" I get a rock solid 20ms on them all? This is the same for all servers listed in the server browser, I checked some US server that reported 500ms+ and I go on them and I get a solid 120 just like I always did? wtf? But it's riddled with bugs, players getting kicked, way to high server cpu idle useage and lot's more so it's probably good that I didn't wait for it, at least the windows dedicated works except for map redirects getting "invalid url" errors, but it still redirects custom maps if you reconnect. Alright, the servers are up and running and should be found in the gamebrowser under standard ctf as dedicated pure servers. For the public free for all servers look for:
The servers will be running custom maps as soon as some good ones come out, the oldschool lowpoly map pack should be out this week and it will kick major ass! I may raise the playercount on the pubs, the new server should be able to handle 50 players or more with no troubles. I also setup a private match server which can be found as:
I put the match server pass up in the private forums. I hooked up a 64 person teamspeak server since it takes almost no cpu and bandwith so the pub players can use it if they like, we have a private channel on it, pass is in the private forums. I may also setup up a warfare server, right now I don't why, but the warfare server just keeps crashing with an error I don't know what the fuck is up with, but I will sqaush it when I got some sleep To get the server IPs and teamspeak server info, please see the Game server page Please let me know what pings you get (Press F10 and type stat net in the console ) and how the servers feel. Have fun! Weeee, finally everything's ready to rock. I'm downloading the dedicated server now, should be done in 30 minutes (Slow ass file mirrors) and after that I just need to hook it up and open some ports on the server firewall and we should be ready to rock. I'll post some more info when everything's ready. It's ours now: www.annihilation-cell-units.com btw, when registering the new name, I found out that I forgot that the old domain www.ut2k.com is still mine since I forgot I turned on auto renew so erhm, we could use that to, it's a lot easier to type and remember especially since you can now use a domain name to connect to the ut server. I need to keep the website here until the linux version comes out unfortunately, the new dedicated server is running windows since the linux server is not out, and the website software doesn't work on windows Well it fucking FIGURES that right after I order the dedicated Linux server for Unreal Tournament 3 that there's some legal bullshit that is holding up the port of the dedicated server to Linux. Seems like it's either aegiea or whatever the fuck that useless graphics shit card is called that enables some useless falling walls physics that nobody cares about, OR it's gamespy because of some proprietary software that the server depends on so it can't be ported to Linux. This means that I would have had to pay 100$ to get it converted to Windows, luckily the hosting company was cool about it and I didn't have to pay, but I WILL have to pay when the Linux server finally comes out because fuck running a windows server so I will need to convert it back to a proper Linux server. Thanks Epic for fucking up yet ANOTHER thing for this allmost DOA game when you PROMISED that there would be a Linux server out when the game went gold. If this was not enough, on the windows dedicated, the redirect is broken, so when switching to a custom map all players will need to reconnect in order to download the map and play. If I didn't fucking LOVE this game I would have ditched it so fast it'd be spinning. Hey hey, Everyone, please ping the IP below and report back on what you are getting. 86.58.155.246 This is the main webserver of the hosting company so it's probably going to be higher than the dedicated server, which incidentally, should be ready Monday. It would have been ready today, but the hosting is holding "Cristmass dinner" today (Direct Danish translation, Danish=Julefrokost. It's like a dinner with lots of boze that all scandinavian companies arrange for thier employees, a tradition if you will) today, so it will ready earliest on Monday. I'm averaging 15ms Well, I figured I'd better get the server up and running before xmass, what with people getting the game, new computers and all so there's somewhere to play, there's like 2 decent servers in all of europe, the rest fucking blows. That and I need some time to memorize the new server commands from ssh console since we still don't have a web admin Takes a day or two for the hosting to set the server up and config it, but hopefully I they get it done before the weekend. Now if they can get off thier asses and release the linux ut3 server because there's no fucking way I'm running windows for a server. Sever specs: The acu public clan server is comming back with a vengeance for Unreal Tournament 3 Same location, same network, same kickass low pings ( 8ms dos ping from sweeden, 6ms dos ping from Denmark, remember that anyone Server will be going up after xmass as soon as the server company puts the server together. Server specs: We will of course be running a 5on5 Normal Weapon CTF server for pub play with no mutators to keep it off the "pure server" blacklist, and a competetive 5on5 CTF server for ladder and pug games probably running the new CustomUT (UTComp for UT3) mutator and standard clanbase CTF ladder setup. We still need to playtest this box to see what it can handle, maybe we can squeeze in a warfare server to run around drunk of our asses on, just for fun. Please comment on settings and maplist suggestions, tickrate, netspeed etc... Anyone seen any info about player load for servers? The server I'm getting is a dual core 2.4 1 gig ram so it would be cool to know how much it will be able to handle. The Unreal Tournament 3 Linux Server Package is almost Here > So....what I'm asking for is this: /some/ kind of indication. Very very soon for the server. We're ironing out last-minute things, and will probably ship in sync with the Windows patch. --ryan. Yay! |
