Why is every new applience getting more and more crappy?

Why is every new applience getting more and more crappy in the name of "Saving" and "Environment friendly and "Green" or whatever hippy bullshit term applied?

I had to get a fucking industrial dishwasher because every new dishwasher is underpowered to be "Green" and power saving. See, I don't want to wait 3 hours for a fucking dishwasher to get done. The old one that lasted like 40 years (Was on the house before I got it) and was done in like 20 min. - used boiling water and the motor was a fucking beast with power. The "consumer" dishwashers can't hardly clean a cup with some espresso dried on it.

This week I was redoing the toilets upstairs, but everyone was "Water saving" so even doing 2 full flushes it doens't properly get the water refreshed. On all of the "Home" models there's 2 stupid plastic buttons now, one for half the amount of water and one for full, even the "full" one doesn't flush properle with enough water. Even more shitty is that instead of the old system where you just pull and it flushes the tank, now you have to stand there like an idiot holding the button down, so you can stop flushing short of the full amount I presume, fucking stupid. Because of this I also had to get the redicoulous expensive "Industrial" way and get toilets made for public stalls. My poor wallet
